Content Strategist

The Content Strategist partners with Brand Strategists in the development of campaign strategy and is responsible for the researching, writing, and posting of written articles. Content Strategists are expected to write high-quality articles on a variety of topics, adapting tone and style to suit the needs of a campaign. They are also instrumental in pitching clients for third-party placement on blogs and publications.

 

Responsibilities

  • Researching, writing, and editing content
  • Developing a content strategy for clients
  • Stay in regular communication with brand strategist and/or client as necessary
  • Provide input for monthly report prep, providing content titles/topics and thoughts for the campaign at large
  • Assist with creation of reports, monthly strategy, and ongoing brand development
  • Executes full responsibilities of article generation within budgeted time -- meets deadlines
  • Strategizing topics that will support the client’s brand and be relevant & engaging for readers in their industry - strategies are approved by Senior Brand Strategist
  • Executing any research required to write the article
  • Collaborating as necessary with clients to finalize articles
  • Editing own work
  • Working with Brand Strategists to submit articles for approval
  • Posting articles on the targeted platform -- including optimized images & media as necessary
  • Optimizing article with metadata, categorization, tags, etc
  • Track and analyze article success - includes views, time on page, engagement
  • Always looks for better ways to communicate the brand and achieve client goals -- considers new and innovative forms of content
  • Considers media targets when crafting written content

 

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong writing experience -- you have already been published as a freelance or staff writer with another organization and have writing samples ready
  • Strong understanding of Content Marketing
  • Ability to meet deadlines and produce consistent, high-quality work: We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality work for our clients, so we expect the same level of quality from every member of the VIP team
  • Organization skills are a MUST
  • Strong communication skills -- both written and verbal
